TamiNadu Prohibition of ragging Act No.7, 1997:
In this act unless the context otherwise requires, ‘ragging’ means display of noisy, disorderly conduct doing any act which causes or is likely to cause Physical or Psychological harm or raise apprehension of fear or shame or embarrassment to a student in any Educational Institution and includes:
- Teasing, abusing, or playing practical jokes on, or hurting students
- Asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not, in the ordinary course, be willing to do.
Prohibition of ragging:
Ragging within or outside the college campus is prohibited.
Penalty for ragging (section 4):
Whoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or propagates “Ragging” within or outside any educational institution, shall be punished with ragging imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years and shall also be liable to a fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees.
Dismissal of students (section 5):
Any student convicted of an offence under section 4 shall also be dismissed from the college and such student shall not be admitted in any other educational institutions.
Suspension of students:
Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, whenever any student complaints of ragging to the Head of an Institution, or to any other person responsible for management of the institution, shall enquire into the same immediately and if found true, shall suspend the student, who has committed the offence the institution.
The decision of the Head of the institution or the person responsible for the management of the institution that any student has indulged in ragging under sub-section (1) shall be final.
YOUTH RED CROSS (YRC)

The Red Cross is non-religious, non-politics and non-sectarian international body meant for humanitarian services. It is a part of the Indian Red Cross Society. Various health camps, health awareness camps and eye camps are conducted by this organization.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
Coordinators/ Programme officers: V. Sridharan and C. Manikandan
The NSS unit has socially responsible students who participate in the activities of the cell with verve and deep sense of service. With the support of the management, the cell further enhances the social spirit through seminars on personality development, various awareness programs, and tree saplings plantation. The blood donor’s camp under NSS unit, register members who are interested in blood donation. The members earnestly search for opportunities and donating the blood.
SPORTS & GAMES
Physical Education is an important and integral part of personality formation.
We have always insisted on a healthy and competitive environment at our institutions we always keep a wide emphasis and sports and games activities.
Having vast space in the campus, college preserves more than a hour every day evening for sports and games activities.
Our college of education organized many tournaments and sports events in the previous years.

SCHOLARSHIP
Students of this College avail Scholarship like Government of India Scholarship (SC/ST Scholarship and Special Scholarship) through the College.
ICT
Information and communication technology (ICT) is an umbrella term that includes all technologies for the manipulation and communication of information in education. It deals mainly with uses of tools and techniques to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching learning process.
Educational technology deals mainly with broad theoretical and class room oriented issues including processes, while ICT in education largely deals with practical aspects of educational technology.
Our College has quite spacious ICT lab to provide computer education, LCD, Projector and language laboratory available with skilled instructors.
ICT is used in almost all activities in our institutions. The institutional campus networked through LAN and high speed internet facility is provided through Wi-Fi and curricular planning is done through help of word, excel and PowerPoint.
ARTS AND DRAMA
A well equipped Art and drama resource centre is established in our institutions. All the facilities like as cutter, glazed papers, Velvet papers, handmade sheet, colors, clothes (tie and die), painting brush, files and office cover preparations, community based skill development, dramatically orientation programs and all other facilities are available for B.Ed., students.
FIELD TRIP
Field trip for minimum period of two days is mandatory for the student teachers and must submit the details of the tour in the prescribed record.
VISIT INNOVATIVE SCHOOLS
Innovative school visit program to be conducted in our college on February month of every academic year. Our Students visit Deaf, Blind and Specialized Schools in and around of Salem district.
TEACHING PRACTICE
The practice of teaching shall be done through micro and macro lessons to be delivered by student teachers.
Teaching practice is arranged in the various schools in and around Tamilnadu. Every student teacher must satisfy the conditions laid down by the university regarding practical work.
The Internal/External examiners appointed by the university assess the performance of each student teacher in her final practical class teaching.
